Third Annual Lecture Series

One of the most popular new SARPA activities has been our annual lecture series, where we have sponsored free lectures on a variety of topics of interest to Summit residents, ranging from solar energy to the history of the street.

We are especially excited about this year’s series, which will be hosted by the Germanic-American Institute at 301 Summit. All lectures are free and open to anyone (not just SARPA members, but why not join anyway!) All lectures begin at 6pm and last roughly an hour, so plenty of time to go out and discuss what you learned at some of our fabulous local restaurants afterwards.

March 20 - Preservation, the Big Picture
with Carol Carey - Executive Director of Historic Saint Paul, and

Doug Gasek, Executive Director of the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota

How do preservation efforts on Summit relate to citywide and statewide initiatives? How can you make your voice better heard? Historic Saint Paul and PAM are Minnesota’s top preservation organizations. Come learn what they are doing and what challenges they face.
