Ayd Mill Planters

Getting back on the blog train with a great post about the Ayd Mill Planters this year!

Many of you may not know that the planters over the Ayd Mill bridge on Summit are paid for an maintained by SARPA. Not only do the planters add some color and interest to a rather windswept part of the street, but we have found they also serve as natural traffic calming agents as people stop slow down and smell the flowers!

Master Gardener Marge Hols has taken on the design of the planters, and SARPA volunteers plant and maintain (and pay for the flowers, and pay the city to water them...)

As you can tell, we like to start them young...
